Increases in the number of insured people, as well as a growing, aging population is driving ASC industry growth, according to a CBRE report.

Here are the key details to know:

1. Increasing merger and acquisition activity is driving the growth of low cost outpatient centers.

2. Ambulatory healthcare jobs have grown 77 percent since 2000.

3. The number of outpatient care centers has increased 51 percent since 2005.

4. The increase in the popularity of high-deductible insurance plans is driving patients to seek more affordable outpatient care, rather than treatment in a hospital.
