Here are four takeaways:
1. The mobile AMEU is supported by the Lions Vision Center and provides ophthalmological medical eye examinations to rural areas in Arizona where ophthalmic care is not readily available.
2. CQCH provides financial support to allow free medical eye exams, patient education/awareness about eye disease and donated eyeglasses to those who qualify.
3. The free exams are supported by the proceeds from the Copper Queen Community Hospital’s annual golf tournament.
4. Being one of the approximately 60 clinics done each year, AMEU screened patients for eye health issues such as diabetic problems, cataracts and glaucoma.
