Here are five things to know about the center:
1. The facility is 15,500 square feet and includes five fully-equipped operating rooms. There is one procedure room.
2. The center is equipped for bariatrics, vascular procedures, gastroenterology, general surgery, urology, pain management, orthopedic surgery and podiatry.
3. Marcy Sasso, CASC, was hired as administrator for CSS of Essex County. She has more than 20 years of experience working for and managing ASC, with a special focus on auditing, benchmarking, billing and collections in addition to compliance management. She is also co-founder of the Surgery Center Coalition.
4. The American Association of Accreditation for Ambulatory Surgical Facilities awarded the center accreditation.
5. When the center opened, there were more than 50 surgeries expected and additional patient flow from New York is expected as the center’s patient volume grows.
