Bedford (N.H.) Ambulatory Surgical Center surgeons are now performing total hip replacements and partial knee replacements, according to New Hampshire Union Leader.
Here are three notes:
1. BASC is able to offer the new procedures because of technology and anesthesia advancements.
2. Nick Vailas, BASC president and founder, said BASC will be able to cut total costs for the new procedures by as little as $15,000 and as much as $40,000 per surgery.
3. Mr. Vailas is encouraged by the future of outpatient surgeries due to more healthcare transparency.
