Compass Surgical Partners opens Florida ASC alongside Martin Health System, local physicians
Compass Surgical Partners teamed up with Stuart, Fla.-based Martin Health System and local physicians to open Port Lucie, Fla.-based Tradition Surgery Center. Compass Surgical Partners will operate the ASC.

Tenet CEO Trevor Fetter steps down
Trevor Fetter stepped down from his position as CEO and resigned as director of Tenet Healthcare, effective Oct. 23.The company's board of directors named Tenet Executive Chairman Ronald Rittenmeyer CEO.

Hacker group Dark Overlord breaches patient information at London plastic surgery clinic
The Dark Overlord is allegedly responsible for breaching patient information at London Bridge Plastic Surgery, a plastic surgery clinic. London Bridge Plastic Surgery confirmed the breach in a statement. The clinic said it is not sure what information the hackers compromised at this point in time. According to the Dark Overlord, the group obtained information of patient names and other sensitive information.

Physician-owned ER to open in Colorado
Physician Dallas Bailes, MD, plans to open a freestanding emergency room in Steamboat Springs, Colo. Dr. Bailes previously opened a freestanding ER in Texas and decided to transplant the model in Colorado. Dr. Bailes' model focuses on aesthetics in addition to care, and is designed to treat and discharge people within 24 hours.

Colorado HAI Advisory Committee names Pinnacle III's Michaela Halcomb ASC representative
The Colorado Healthcare-Associated Infections Advisory Committee selected Pinnacle III Director of Operations and Peak One Surgery Center Administrator Michaela Halcomb, RN, BSN, as the committee's ASC representative. The HAI Advisory Committee's mission is to provide oversight of healthcare associated infections and reporting to ensure accountability.

AGA Institute promotes Dr. Douglas Corley to co-editor-in-chief
The American Gastroenterological Association Institute Governing Board promoted Douglas Corley, MD, from deputy editor-in-chief to co-editor-in-chief of Gastroenterology. Richard Peek, MD, and Dr. Corley served as editor-in-chief and deputy-editor-in-chief, respectively, since July 2016.

Medical Facilities America promotes Robert Horrar to president, CEO; Jeffrey Lozon remains director
Medical Facilities America, a company that holds interest in specialty surgical hospitals and ASCs across the U.S., named Robert Horrar president and CEO effective Oct. 25. He replaces Interim President and CEO Jeffrey Lozon, who will remain director of the company.
