In 2010, the average full-time NP salary was $90,770, compared to $89,579 in 2009 and $81,397 in 2007. Since 2001, the average full-time NP salary has risen by over $25,000, from $63,172.
In 2010, the average full-time PA salary was $96,876, compared to $93,105 in 2009 and $86,214 in 2007. Since 2001, the average full-time PA salary has risen by over $25,000, from $71,046.
The surveys were conducted online, and data was collected from Aug. 23 through Nov. 30, 2010. Nearly 3,000 NPs participated in the nurse practitioner survey, and nearly 1,300 PAs answered the physician assistant survey.
