Four fast facts:
1. This was the third year Dr. Diao and the ASC have provided free hand, wrist and arm surgery for uninsured patients as part of the Touching Hands Project.
2. Five patients received surgical care from Dr. Diao during Hand Day 2019.
3. The event was organized by Operation Access, which coordinates surgical care for uninsured patients in the San Francisco Bay Area.
4. Donations and volunteers helped make the event a success, according to Dennise Garcia Leon, program coordinator at Operation Access.
