Bloomington, Ind.-based Premier Healthcare, a multispecialty provider healthcare group, reported a possible data breach, which could impact approximately 205,748 people, according to Fox 59.

Here are five things to know:

1. Premier employees found out someone stole a laptop consisting of patient information from the Billing Department on Jan. 4.

2. Although the laptop was password protected, it was not encrypted, and contained emails on the hard drive as well as various screenshots, spreadsheets and PDF documents.

3. Premier used several of the laptop's documents to address billing issues with patients, payers and other healthcare providers.

4. The documents also had different combinations of patient demographic information including name, address, date of birth, social security number, financial information, medical record number, insurance information and/or clinical information.

5. Premier reports there is no evidence leading the group to believe the thief targeted the laptop's information or used the information for fraudulent purposes.
