1. Mr. Gary has had a long career in the ASC industry; he has been in the healthcare industry for more than 25 years. As president of ASCA, Mr. Gary was instrumental in creating ASCA’s partnership with Partners in Health and organizing ASCA’s benchmarking initiative.
2. He is currently the COO of Regent Surgical Health. Before joining that company, he was senior vice president and assistant corporate counsel at HealthSouth Corporation. “Using his many years of health care experience, particularly in relation to ambulatory surgical centers, as Regent’s Chief Operating Officer Nap has implemented a number of improvements in the way we manage and grow our ASCs. He and his team continue to improve our managerial processes, and these improvements are reflected in both the clinical and financial success of our centers,” says Michael Kearns, MBA, CFO and co-founder of Regent Surgical Health.
3. Though Mr. Gary has just completed his term as president of the board of directors for the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, he will continue to serve on the board until 2016. “Nap has been a great leader. He’s been heavily involved in every decision made by ASCA in the last several years, and I have enjoyed working with him during his time as president,” says William Prentice, JD, CEO of ASCA. 4. Mr. Gary earned a JD from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. Earlier in his career, he spent 14 years at Haskell Slaughter Young and Rediker. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Duke University in Durham, N.C.
