3-state cosmetic surgery center faces patient data breach

The Plastic Surgery Center, a cosmetic surgery center operating over 20 locations across New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania has suffered a patient data breach, according to an April 21 report from ClassAction.org

The facility sent out a notice to patients stating that an unauthorized party gained access to its contracted billing company Nov. 4. 

Patient information that may have been impacted includes names, dates of birth, driver’s license and passport numbers, Social Security numbers, taxpayer IDs, financial account and payment card details, biometric data, and medical and health insurance information.

The surgery center completed a review of its systems and security on April 4, according to the report.
