15 New York-based healthcare companies named top employers for 2023

Fifteen healthcare companies have been named among the top employers in New York state for 2023, according to an Aug. 22 report from Forbes.

Forbes partnered with research firm Statista to survey 70,000 workers at companies with more than 500 employees in all 50 states

Participants were asked to evaluate their employers on a number of factors, including diversity, compensation and working conditions. 

A total of 1,392 companies were named the top employers for 2023. 

The top healthcare employers in New York: 

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Buffalo) is a cancer treatment and research center. It is the only facility in upstate New York to hold the National Cancer Institute designation of "comprehensive cancer center."

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (Tarrytown) is a biotechnology company that initially focused on clinical research for medications focused on regenerative capabilities, although it has since expanded its scope. 

University of Rochester Medical Center is one of the main campuses of the university and comprises the university's primary medical education, research and patient care facilities. 

Excellus BlueCross BlueShield (Rochester) has been a health insurer for over 85 years offering Medicare, mental, dental, vision and employer insurance plan options. 

New York-Presbyterian Hospital (New York City) is a comprehensive academic healthcare system that delivers high-quality patient care. Its physicians offer a variety of emergency, primary and specialty care. 

Pfizer (New York City) is a pharmaceutical and biotechnology company that was established in 1849 to develop and produce medicines and vaccines. 

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (New York City) is a comprehensive cancer treatment and inpatient facility offering treatments from immunotherapy to integrative medicine. 

Northwell Health (New Hyde Park) is the state's largest healthcare provider with locations spanning all over. It is the most awarded health system in the state by U.S. News & World Report.

Hospital for Special Surgery (New York City) is a leading medical center focused on musculoskeletal healthcare and research. It is consistently ranked the top orthopedic care facility in the nation. 

AHRC Nassau (Brookville) is a nonprofit helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to receive necessary care. 

NYU Langone Health (New York City) is an academic medical center with six inpatient facilities in the area, making it one of the largest healthcare systems in the Northeast. 

HealthNow New York (Buffalo) is a pioneer in providing healthcare to companies and individuals in the Buffalo region, offering individual health coverage and Medicare options. 

BronxCare Health System (New York City) was founded in 1890 and has been providing patient care in the region since. 

United Health Services (Binghamton) is the largest and most comprehensive healthcare provider in upstate New York's Southern tier. It is a locally owned, nonprofit system.  

Mount Sinai Health System (New York City) is an integrated health system that provides patient care to communities both local and global.
