The following are the top 10 most frequently reported surgical specialties in single- and multi-specialty ASCs in 2008 by percentage of centers reporting the specialty, according to SDI Health.

2. Ophthalmology — 30 percent
3. Plastic surgery — 29 percent
4. Orthopedics — 21 percent
5. Pain management — 20 percent
6. General surgery — 17 percent
7. ENT — 17 percent
8. Podiatry — 16 percent
9. Gynecology — 16 percent
10. Urology — 16 percent
