Dr. Neil KirschenBoard-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine, Dr. Kirschen has done extensive postgraduate training in osteopathic and manual medicine. In an interview with Becker's ASC Review, Dr. Kirschen discussed the importance of maintaining a positive relationship between anesthesiologists and ambulatory surgery centers. One point was to sustain the center's profitability by networking with other physicians, such as endoscopists and pain management specialists, who can perform cases there. To accomplish this, it is important to give these physicians consistent and respectful personalized attention, Dr. Kirschen said. "Make sure you don't cancel too many cases [with them], make sure you personally handle procedures brought to you," he said. "Being personal, affable and affordable is the best way to meet with a physician."
