5 Recent Surgery Center Leadership Updates

Here are five recent administrative and physician leadership changes at surgery centers.

Richard DeMaio, MD, board-certified otolaryngologist, has joined the physician team at Hudson Valley Ambulatory Surgery in Middletown, N.Y. Dr. DeMaio practices with ENT Allergy Associates at the Fishkill and New Windsor, N.Y., office locations.

In July, Maryland Ambulatory Surgery Association president Andrea Hyatt was elected to a three-year term on the Maryland Patient Safety Center's board of directors. Ms. Hyatt also currently serves as the head administrator of the Dulaney Eye Institute in Townson, Md.

Kecia Norling, the current administrator of Northwest Ambulatory Surgery Center in Portland, has been appointed to the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association board. Ms. Norling is a past president of the Oregon Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

Daryl David Weir, MD, has recently joined the medical staff at Aesthetic Surgery Center of Winter Park (Fla.). Dr. Weir is a general surgeon with more than 30 years of experience in breast surgery. He also currently serves as the medical director of Orlando Surgery Center.

Cindy Young, RN, BSN, CASC, the administrative director of the Surgery Center of Farmington (Mo.), became an Ambulatory Surgery Center Association board member a little over a year ago. She has served as her current center's administrative director for 14 years. Ms. Young also served as a Missouri Ambulatory Surgery Center Association board member for four years.
