Surgical Management Professionals is looking an innovative individual to join our team as an OR Manager for a new surgery center opening in 2015.
The Orthopaedic Institute Surgery Center is located in Metropolis, Illinois, and also serves patients from Paducah, Kentucky. The center will have three ORs and two 23-hour rooms, and will be a leader in providing patient focused, high quality and cost effective surgical procedures. Procedures performed will include standard orthopedic sports medicine cases, foot, ankle and hand procedures, spine procedures, total knee and hip replacements in a 23-hour stay environment.
The OR Manager position will work very closely with the Administrator during construction and setup of the facility. This position will also be very involved in hiring a team to create an excellent employee culture with high quality patient focused care. A successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, strong communication skills and a passion for success. The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) OR Manageris responsible for directing and supervising the OR operations of the surgery center.
Qualifications:
• Prior surgical experience, OR experience required
• Advanced medical knowledge
• Strong problem-solving, analytical skills and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff
• Talent for motivating teams and individuals to accomplish goals
• Experience in management is required
• RN with active license in Illinois
• CPR; ACLS required, PALS preferred
Job Functions Include:
• Train and recruit employees
• Monitor and evaluate performance and responsible for directing and supervising of the OR and Sterile Processing
• Ensure operational productivity
• Plan departmental budgets
• Maintain inventory and supplies
• Work closely with Administrator and senior management to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies
• Assure quality patient care and a positive work environment
• Talent for motivating teams and individuals to accomplish goals
