Job Opening: Physicians Endoscopy Seeks Director of Implementation Services

Physicians Endoscopy (PE) is seeking a Director of Implementation Services to focus on the development of new ambulatory surgery centers. This role will provide hands-on project management and operational support and must be knowledgeable in ASC regulations, standards and regulatory compliance.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years experience in a healthcare service operations role with a strong emphasis in the area of regulatory compliance. Prior experience with single-specialty or multi-specialty ASCs is required.
  • Proven record of successful ASC Administration and / or Management experience.
  • Willingness to travel (overnight) up to 50% of the time.
  • Prior hands-on experience in ASC De Novo projects - from site selection to working with architects, vendors, state DoH representatives, and accrediting agencies.
  • A college degree is required. RN degree is required. Advanced degrees, MBA, MHA or others, are a plus.
  • Expertise in monitoring and managing a project to an established proforma and business model.
  • Experience building and developing relationships with physicians, clinical and support staff in addition to hospital senior management. Candidates will have prior project management experience and a high motivation towards success and excellence.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word spreadsheet software, the ability to handle multiple tasks and strong analytical skills to be applied toward assessing complex data and information are essential. Knowledge of Microsoft Project is a plus.

The Director of Implementation Services will set an example for others through his/her positive attitude, professional appearance and personal, caring atmosphere in dealing with all internal and external contacts.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Working within PE's team-oriented culture, the Director of Implementation Services will function as the primary liaison between PE and the physicians and various project groups.
  • First point of contact in identifying issues and opportunities in developing a new facility and subsequently communicating, suggesting solutions and ensuring success to the project timeline in development of the facility.
  • Heavy interaction and influence cross-functionally within Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, Finance and Development.
  • Additional responsibilities of the Director of Implementation Services include, but are not limited to:
    • Provide leadership, vision, and strategic direction in developing and implementing clinical excellence at each facility which encompasses the facets of quality improvement, patient safety, risk management, and the use of evidence-based clinical care guidelines.
    • Promote awareness and adherence to all regulatory, compliance, and privacy requirements pertaining to quality review and patient safety.
    • Maintain strong knowledge of Accrediting Agency Standards such as AAAHC, JCAHO, and AAAAFS, OSHA, State and Medicare regulations and effectively communicate changes to PE management and centers.
    • Function as first line of defense in identifying regulatory issues at the center level and communicate them appropriately, both at the center level and within PE.
    • Provides a lead role in the coordination of new center development and operational activities.
    • Coordinates the timeline for new center projects
    • Assist in the design and layout of the facility to maximize efficiency.
    • Prepare equipment plans and gather/maintain equipment cut sheets.
    • Solicit, review and negotiate quotes for equipment, supplies and ancillary service agreements for centers under development.
    • Select, analyze and make recommendations regarding the acquisition of equipment, supplies and ancillary service contracts for the Center.
    • Provide on-site support and project oversight during center construction.
    • Design and conduct new center employee orientation programs.
    • Serve as the Company's "on-site" employee during the pre-and post opening weeks for a new center, with periodic visits to Centers as needed
    • Sets the tone at the new centers by possessing exceptional interpersonal skills to coach, train and mentor staff in the "art" of personal service and effective management of the relationships between the center, the physicians, their respective professional practices and PE to foster teamwork and cooperation.
    • Works cooperatively with and interacts with various PE departments, the Center Medical Directors, Physicians and their respective Office Manager/staff to facilitate the seamless, efficient functioning of the Center.
    • Researching the applicable State agencies to ascertain state specific guidelines for Licensure and Medicare Certification and work with Center leadership to assist in preparation for Licensure, Certification and Accreditation surveys as needed.
