Job Opening: Access MediQuip Seeks Business Intelligence Developer

Access MediQuip, a national provider of surgical implant management solutions, is seeking a business intelligence developer.

 

The Business Intelligence Developer will be responsible for working closely with various stakeholders to design and optimize Access MediQuip’s data warehousing environment and needs. This position will leverage key development, reporting, analytic, and business intelligence skills to generate solutions for key clients and internal constituents.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Devises data verification and quality methods and standard systems procedures that will be used to support Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence platforms.
  • Scope, design and build OLAP cubes, data mining algorithms, and SQL queries.
  • Extracts data from its source and configures data to be loaded into the data warehouse.
  • Troubleshoots and corrects data and data processing errors in existing solutions.
  • Designs databases, stored procedures, and data warehouses, utilizing healthcare claims data and data supporting healthcare pricing models.
  • Scopes, designs and builds complex reports, dashboards, and other data delivery methods.
  • Participates in certain aspects of user consulting, systems analysis, general systems design, vendor contracts and detail systems design.
  • Develops common operations, which can be reused.
  • Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences.
  • Participates in multiple concurrent projects.
  • Maintains current knowledge on the latest business intelligence technology
  • Manages projects and task use to reflect Lean and Agile development principles
  • Works collaboratively to increase efficiency in the business intelligence solutions that the group produces.

  • Understands the product/service line provided by Access MediQuip.
  • Improves and implements procedures as needed and/or assigned.
  • Consistently provides optimum Customer Service to all internal and external customers.
  • Consistently works to develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

 

Desired Skills & Experience

Education Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field from an accredited university is required.


Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience with data management, relational and dimensional data modeling, cube development, and troubleshooting
  • 3-5 years ETL experience is required.
  • Experience working in Healthcare, and working with healthcare claims data, healthcare products, and transforming healthcare data for analytical consumption is preferred.


Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to interact effectively with all level of management and staff is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a customer service oriented environment.
  • Ability to operate within Microsoft Office Suite applications to include MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and MS Access at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Ability to exhibit creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and to collaborate with cross functional technical teams.
  • Ability to operate Visio, VSS, SQL Profiler and Query Analyzer at and advanced level.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues using the following Microsoft SQL Server solutions:
    • SQL Server 2008, DTS, Integration Services (SSIS), Analysis Services (SSAS), Reporting Services (SSRS), Performance Point Server, and MOSS
    • Multidimensional OLAP Reporting tools (MS Reporting Services, MS Excel-Pivot Tables, Performance Point Services)
  • Superior analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, the product/service line provided by Access MediQuip.
