Essential Job Functions:
- Ensures that the day to day operations are conducted in accordance with clinical practice standards.
- Call upon and coordinate the use of corporate personnel and hospital resources. This includes, but not limited to, corporate legal and financial data processing, staffing, credentialing, marketing, and development capabilities.
- The Administrator must market the physicians, patients, third party payors, and the community in general.
- Maintain a high level of personal service to physicians and their patients.
- Maintain appropriate levels of personnel (this includes hiring, promoting, assigning, set compensation level, approve merit evaluations and salary increases, as well as conference and discharge, when necessary).
- Encourage new physicians to use the Center by direct calls.
- Implement and maintain personnel policies, employee benefit package, wage and salary program, and appropriate job descriptions for approval by the Governing Body.
- Establish appropriate internal organizational lines of communication, authority, and accountability.
- Acts as the Risk Manager Designee.
- Develop procedures manual and operating forms, “policy and procedures”.
- Supervise and work closely with the Business Manager to institute budget controls, monitor accounts receivables and payables, prepare and project annual budgets.
- Approve purchase orders, invoices, and sign checks.
- Analyze and update fee structure.
- Attend Medical Advisory Board/Governing Board meetings and submit required reports.
- Implement ongoing Quality Improvement program.
- Consult specialists in areas necessary to maintain high standards of health care and assure the practice of these standards at the Center.
- Utilize specialty personnel to ensure compliance with any state or federal guidelines are met (i.e. biomedical, pharmaceutical, laboratory, environmental controls, materials management, nursing, radiology, medical records, personnel).
- Conduct staff meetings at regular intervals for informative educational purposes.
- Ensure that proper maintenance of equipment used in surgery and any ancillary equipment is done regularly.
- Act as a direct liaison with corporate headquarters and hospitals.
- Interface with hospital administration in overlap markets.
- Supervise contract services (i.e. janitorial, landscaping maintenance, etc.).
- Meet weekly with Managers or employees to evaluate ongoing schedules and plan for improvements of services.
- Assure accurate recording of minutes for each Center Board Meeting.

General Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively with applicants, coworkers, providers and patients
- Surgery center operations knowledge, including good knowledge of the Operating Room.
- Pleasant personality/attitude
- Fluent in English
- Excellent data entry skills

Education and Experience:
Nursing degree is required. A minimum of 3 years management experience, health care background, with some OR experience/knowledge.
