Wisconsin's Manitowoc Surgery Center Estimates $6.6M in Savings for Local Businesses Since 2006

Manitowoc (Wis.) Surgery Center was recently highlighted in the Herald Times-Reporter for providing cost savings to patients in the area.

Locally-owned and operated, MSC has 20 employees. Physician partners include David Kuester, MD, Carl DiRaimondo, MD, and Craig Olson, MD, all board-certified orthopedic surgeon, and Sean Benham, MD, a board-certified general surgeon.

In addition to typical outpatient procedures, the surgery center also performs total joint replacement as a same-day short-stay option. According to the report, Manitowoc Surgery Center has saved local businesses more than $6.6 million since opening in 2006.

The savings comes from the price discrepancy for similar procedures provided by the surgery center and other local facilities. A colonoscopy at MSC costs $1,632, which the ASC estimates to be $245 to $482 less than other facilities.
