WHO prepares for ICD-11

While the United States is gearing up for the switch to ICD-10 in October, the World Health Organization is preparing for ICD-11, according to an EHR Intelligence report.

ICD-11 is expected to be released in 2017. The new code set will be designed for the increasing transition to health IT systems, according to the report.

The WHO is inviting comment on ICD-11 through an online platform.
