2. She questioned the Obama administration’s decision to allow low-income people access to Medicaid. On this, Ms. Verma said there should be a private “mechanism” for people in poverty to pay for medical coverage, keeping Medicaid for disabled people and children.
3. Before accepting President Donald Trump’s appointment, Ms. Verma served as a consultant for SVC Inc. Her firm developed Indiana’s Medicaid expansion.
