UnitedHealthcare & Optum offer to help Texans facing deadly storms: 3 notes

Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare and Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Optum are extending support to health plan beneficiaries affected by deadly tornadoes and thunderstorms ravaging Texas.

Three notes:

1. UnitedHealthcare and Optum have offered to help patients refill prescriptions early and access in-network care providers.

2. Patients who misplaced their medical ID cards are encouraged to download the free Health4Me app for immediate access to their ID and benefit information, as well as a provider directory.

3. Optum opened a free emotional-support hotline for those affected. Mental health specialists will help callers manage their anxiety and stress, and can refer patients to community resources.
