Texas Representative Looks to Stop ICD-10 Implementation

Rep. Ted Poe (R-Texas) has introduced House of Representatives bill 1701 that would prohibit the Secretary of Health and Human Services from implementing ICD-10, according to an ICD-10 Watch report.  

House bill seeks to stop ICD-10 implementationRep. Poe argues that the ICD-10 coding switch is an "onerous bureaucratic mandate."

Currently, the bill has only been introduced to the House Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means committees and will face a vote in the two committees before appearing before the House or the Senate.
