For cervical posterior/posterolateral fusions performed below C2, the cervical initial level code is 22600 for arthrodesis, posterior or posterolateral technique, single level; cervical below C2 segment.

Use code 22610 for an arthrodesis, posterior or posterolateral technique, single level; thoracic (with or without lateral transverse technique).

 

Use code 22612 for a lumbar arthrodesis, posterior or posterolateral technique, single level; lumbar (with or without lateral transverse technique).

 

The add-on code for any additional vertebral segment for these fusions is 22614.
