Speaker Paul Ryan: GOP to send final reconciliation package to House by early March — 3 highlights

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said party leaders will start marking up a reconciliation package aimed at repealing and replacing portions of the ACA in the next couple weeks, according to The Hill.

Here are three highlights:

1. He said the GOP will bring the final package to the House floor either by the end of February or early March.

2. Interim House Budget Committee Chairwoman Diane Black (R-Tenn.) said the party's goal is to make healthcare more patient-centric and give consumers more care options. Chairman Black said the bill's key component includes healthcare savings accounts, which she noted the American people "really do want."

3. Aside from healthcare, Republicans also have tax reform on their agenda and hope to have a second budget reconciliation process focused on taxes prior to the August 2017 recess.
