Steffi Ortiz, a former college soccer player, says she can no longer walk or run without pain since falling after the procedure. She alleges an anesthesiologist mistakenly injected a drug into her left leg even though her right leg was marked for surgery.
Ms. Ortiz claims she subsequently experienced nerve damage in her leg. Her attorney is taking legal action against anesthesiologist Juan Cucalon, MD, at Doctors Hospital.
No previous complaints against Dr. Cucalon have been registered with the state.
