President-elect Donald Trump selected Seema Verma to head CMS as administrator, according to Politico.

1. An Indiana resident, Ms. Verma played an active role in vice president-elect Mike Pence's ACA Medicaid expansion model, Healthy Indiana Plan 2.0.

2. Ms. Verma is the founder and CEO of Indianapolis-based SVC, a health policy consulting firm. As head of SVC, Ms. Verma has been charged with helping other leading Republican legislators on Medicaid expansion proposals.

3. She is equipped with more than two decades of experience in policy and strategic projects involving Medicaid, insurance and public health.

4. Previously, she was the vice president of planning for the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County in Indianapolis as well as director with the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials in Washington, D.C.
