Premiums escalating for Massachusetts retailers — 4 points

Health insurance premiums are increasing by double digits for Massachusetts retailers and their workers, according to the Boston Globe.

Here are four points:

1. Trade group Retailers Association of Massachusetts surveyed its members and found insurance rates are increasing 11 percent, on average.

2. The hikes will begin April 1 when retailers and other small businesses renew their coverage.

3. Retailers have been enduring double-digit rate increases for two consecutive years.

4.  Retailers Association of Massachusetts is comprised of 3,500 members.
