The OIG announced the release of the online materials on Feb. 9. The materials include a Roadmap for New Physicians booklet, Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, speaker’s notes and video presentation.
According to the AAPC release, the materials summarize the five main federal fraud and abuse laws — the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback statue, the Stark Law, the Exclusion Statute and the Civil Monetary Penalties Law — and give physicians advice on complying with these laws in their relationships with payors.
