New rules for borrowers affected by COVID-19

Anesthesia Business Consultants is regularly updating clients on developments affecting them during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Two recent updates:

March 16. ABC passed along information on temporary CMS waivers and flexibilities for hospitals, health systems and providers. The agency temporarily suspended certain Medicare enrollment screening requirements, as well as non-emergency survey inspections.

March 25. ABC shared new loan modification and reporting rules from federal and financial institutions. In a joint statement, several federal and financial agencies outlined how they plan to address situations in which borrowers can't meet contractual payment obligations because of the pandemic. The six institutions also offered clarity on accounting for loan modifications, past-due reporting, nonaccrual status and charge-offs, and discount window eligibility.
