Here’s what you should know:

1. Montana’s co-op covers approximately 40 percent of the state’s residents who buy individual policies.

2. Mr. Dworak based his predictions on the House’s passed proposal and what Senate leaders have said about the AHCA. He believes the AHCA will benefit payers at the expense of the American public.

“Tens of thousands of Montanans stand to lose health coverage,” he said.

3. Although he said the bill would decrease financial liabilities, he believes it’ll endanger higher risk patient groups.

4. Mr. Dworak said his co-op is fiscally responsible, and is only proposing a single-digit percent raise for 2018. He’d like to see the ACA remain.

5. He refuted claims the ACA is collapsing, citing reported financial statements for several major payers.
