Medicare’s Latest Compliance Newsletter Addresses Coding Errors in Tracheostomy, Excisional Debridement

CMS has issued its latest Medicare Quarterly Provider Compliance Newsletter and it addresses areas including incorrect coding of tracheostomy and excisional debridement as a result of recovery audit findings.

Other areas addressed in the issue include incorrect coding for chemotherapy administration and non-chemotherapy injections and infusions, evaluation and management billing during the global surgery period and incorrect billing of new pa­tient services for reimbursement under Medicare Part B.
