Maine Health Data Organization establishes healthcare price transparency website

Maine Health Data Organization collects data from hospitals, payers, MaineCare and Medicare. Now, MHDO has created a new healthcare price transparency website for the state, according to a Bangor Daily News report.

The new website, CompareMaine.org, includes average costs of more than 200 procedures performed at approximately 170 Maine healthcare facilities, according to the report. The website pairs price comparisons alongside quality data.

MDHO was able to launch the website through grants provided by CMS.
