Louisiana ACO partners with BCBS: 5 notes

The Blue Cross Quality Blue Value Partnership program welcomed Aledade’s Louisiana accountable care organization, according to The Advocate.

Here are five notes:

1. Aledade’s Louisiana ACO is composed of physician practices in Lafayette, New Iberia, Abbeville and Opelousas.

2. The six practices within the ACO offer services to 5,200 Medicare patients.

3. Under the partnership with Blue Cross, the ACO’s patient count will double.

4. The ACO’s physicians will provide care to the Blue Cross patients, and Blue Cross will oversee the care management and quality improvement aspects.

5. Aledade is a Bethesda, Md.-based company partnering with physicians to build ACOs.
