Here’s what you need to know.

1. CEO Joseph Swedish said to Bloomberg, “If we do not see clear evidence of an improving environment and a path towards sustainability in the marketplace, we will likely modify our strategy in 2018. Clearly, 2017 is a critical year as we continue to assess the long-term viability of our exchange footprint.”

2. Anthem is projecting to post a narrow profit in its ACA business in 2017.

3. Through premium increases and plan changes, profits are expected to improve. According to Mr. Swedish, “it will take more than that” to stabilize the ACA.

4. Anthem would like a tax on health insurers eliminated and changes made to regulation dictating how plans are sold and administered.
