Here’s what you should know:
1. The bill would truncate federal funding to states by $215 billion through 2026.
2. Over a 20-year period, the bill would lower federal funding to states by $4 trillion-plus.
3. Thirty-four states and Washington, D.C., would encounter funding cuts, with seven states experiencing funding reductions exceeding $10 billion.
4. Sixteen states will see funding increases due to the bill. Texas would receive a funding increase of $35 billion if the bill comes to fruition in its current form.
