Former SC Medicaid director accepts VP of policy, finance job with state Hospital Association: 3 key notes

Former South Carolina Medicaid Director Christian Soura resigned from his position March 7, and accepted a job as the S.C. Hospital Association’s vice president of policy and finance, The Post and Courier reports.

1. Mr. Soura was a cabinet member for former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, R, and current Governor Henry McMaster, R.

2. The Hospital Association supports expanding Medicaid — a program both governors opposed, The Post and Courier reports.

3. Mr. Soura is the second former state Medicaid director to leave the state for the S.C. Hospital Association.
