A Naples, Fla., allergist and immunologist has been named in a federal civil complaint alleging he falsified patient diagnoses to obtain Medicare coverage for immune globulin treatments, the Justice Department said in an April 30 news release.
Kevin Rosenbach, MD, allegedly changed or added diagnoses of a rare immunodeficiency disease for patients who did not meet the definition of that condition, causing special pharmacies to submit more than $1.9 million in false claims to Medicare Part B for subcutaneous immune globulins.
The claims are allegations only and there has been no determination of liability.
