Inspector General for the Department of Health and Human Services Daniel Levinson acknowledged EMRs can increase efficiently and quality of care, but he also said “we must guard against the use of electronic records to cover up crime.”
The agency plans to review EHRs for potential abuse vulnerabilities. No further details were included.
