An optician and his ex-wife have been indicted on charges of Medicaid fraud and theft after billing Medicaid for services that weren't provided, according to WSAZ.

Here are four things to know.

1. Marcus Minix, owner of Prestonburgh, Ky.-based Minix Eye Care, and his former wife Amy Sloan, are accused of submitting false billing statements to Medicare in 2015 and 2016 for procedures that weren't provided. At the time, the couple was married and both worked at the center.

2. According to the report, Mr. Minix and Ms. Sloan withdrew "large amounts of money" from the center's accounts that included the Medicaid payment deposits.

3. The former couple is charged with the felonies of unlawfully taking property of more than $10,000 and devising or engaging in efforts to defraud Kentucky medical assistance.

4. Arraignment is scheduled for June 8 in the Franklin County Circuit Court.
