Here’s what you should know:
1. Envision and Cigna in Arizona reached a multiyear agreement.
2. Envision has about 2,000 physicians in the state. Its Arizona physicians practice at Phoenix-based Banner Health, San Francisco-based Dignity Health and Scottsdale, Ariz.-based HonorHealth hospitals.
3. The agreement comes as Envision continues battling with Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare over its emergency room billing practices. UnitedHealthcare has threatened to drop Envision from its network.
“Envision’s clinicians have been serving our community for years in our local hospitals and ASCs,” said Kim Shepard, Cigna’s Arizona market president. “Our new network agreement will help make it easier for our customers, and we are pleased to build upon our collaboration to improve the health and well-being of the thousands of Cigna members who rely on Envision’s services.”
