EmployerDirect appoints 6 physicians to medical advisory board

EmployerDirect appointed several physicians to its medical advisory board.

The company is focused on providing value-based healthcare options to large self-insured employers with quality and price transparency for planned medical procedures. The medical advisory board appointed the following new members:

•    Philip Sanger, MD (internal medicine, pulmonary, critical care)
•    Daniel Peterson, MD (neurosurgery)
•    Stefan Kreuzer, MD (orthopedics)
•    John Oswalt, MD (cardiothoracic surgery)
•    Robert Marema, MD (bariatrics)
•    Corazon Ramirez, MD (anesthesia)

Dr. Sanger serves as chief medical officer for EmployerDirect and Dr. Peterson is assistant CMO.

The board will establish and maintain quality criteria by developing key performance measures to increase quality outcomes and patient satisfaction. The board members can also consult on key surgical cases associated with their specialties. The board members have already been assisting the company for 18 months to develop its SurgeryPlus Quality Care Rating System.

The medical advisory board will also oversee the company's physician credentialing program and ambulatory surgery center and hospital acceptance criteria. The board participates on the company's Quality Assurance Committee.
