Dressings, Catheter Coverings Not Separately Payable Under End Stage Renal Disease Prospective Payment System

Dressings and protective catheter coverings are included in the End Stage Renal Disease Prospective Payment System bundled payment amount, effective Jan. 1, according to an AAPC release.

Dressings or coverings used to protect the dialysis site are considered related to ESRD treatment and are thus included in the composite rate. The supplies are not separately billable, no matter the method of dialysis or the location of treatment.
