Delaware Valley ACO renews contract with Humana: 3 takeaways

The Delaware Valley Accountable Care Organization has renewed its value-based network agreement with Humana, according to a BusinessWire release.

Here’s what you need to know.

1. The agreement goes into effect Jan. 1, 2017, and is available to the approximately 9,000 Humana Medicare Advantage in Philadelphia.

2. The contract rewards physicians who deliver high-quality care and take a proactive and wellness-focused approach to healthcare.

3. Through the first three quarters of 2016 participants saw many benefits from the agreement including: fewer ER visits and lower hospital readmission rates, higher screening rates and healthier outcomes when compared to Humana Medicare Advantage members.
