Coding tip of the day: Avoid coding burnout with simple strategies

Coders can steer clear of burnout by making lists, finding a mentor and tackling one to-do list item at a time, according to Kristi Pollard, a senior consultant at The Haugen Group.

Ms. Pollard has been a national speaker, spent hundreds of hours training coders, written thousands of pages of coding training materials and penned numerous articles.

She provided 10 effective strategies for managing burnout in an ICD10 Monitor article. Here is one of those tips.

"Work when you're most efficient. Most coding professionals work from home now, which means they can usually make their own hours. If you're most efficient at 5 am when the rest of your family is sleeping, that's when you should work."
