Cigna, Cigna Foundation work to enhance care for critically ill patients: 5 things to know

Cigna and the Cigna Foundation are working to enhance advanced care for critically ill patients in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Richmond, Va., New York state, Tennessee and Texas.

Here are five things to know:

1. Cigna and the Cigna Foundation are also striving to better support family caregivers of the critical ill.

2. The Cigna Foundation will provide a two-year $320,000 World of Difference research grant to the Coalition to Transform Advanced Care. These funds will help those who can’t access medical and social services.

3. The Coalition to Transform Advanced Care will also use the funds to understand how to better meet the needs of caregivers.

4. Separately, Cigna launched a pilot program for people with advanced illnesses to receive holistic palliative care. This program is occurring in New York, Tennessee and Texas.

5. Cigna is working with Aspire Health to offer in-home medical services under this program.
