CareCloud launches guarantee to help providers avoid MIPS penalties

Miami-based CareCloud launched a guarantee program promising to help medical practice clients avoid penalties associated with CMS’ Merit-based Incentive Payment System.

MIPS requires eligible clinicians to submit quality data this year or face a 4 percent fee adjustment penalty to Medicare Part B reimbursement in 2019. CareCloud aims to support those clinicians with the MIPS Success Guarantee as part of its clinical technology offerings. The guarantee provides existing clients and new clients access to the CareCloud Charts EHR and promises no providers using the platform will receive CMS penalties under MIPS.

The platform is designed to help clinicians enhance quality reporting and care management, and clients will receive ongoing performance coaching and service throughout the 2017 performance year. Those who perform exceedingly well qualify for bonuses under the MIPS program.

The company previously guided clients through the 2015 ICD-10 coding transition. Now it has taken on a new challenge.

“Value-based care is fundamentally changing how medical practices get paid,” said Ken Comee, CEO of CareCloud. “These shifts are aimed to strengthen the link between quality and reimbursement, but the transition is tough. We are proud to be offering this guarantee and new support programs to help make MIPS participation easy for eligible clinicians.”
