Here’s what you should know:
1. The bill would require all hospitals and ASCs to disclose charges of the top 100 inpatient and outpatient procedures for both insured and uninsured patients.
2. Rep. Lipinski introduced similar legislation in 2012. The bill would have required hospitals and ASCs to disclose charges for certain treatment episodes.
3. The recently introduced bill was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce’s Subcommittee on Health July 27.
4. To become law, the bill must be passed by Congress and signed by President Donald Trump.
