ASCA amongst organizations launching the Clear Choice Campaign for price transparency

The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, AARP, Aetna, Novo Nordisk and National Consumers League have launched the Clear Choices Campaign.

The Clear Choices Campaign focuses on brings together consumers, healthcare providers and industry stakeholders to advocate for price transparency and accountability.

“Our members come from all sides of the political debate,” said Joel White, President of Clear Choices. “But we all agree that consumers should have access to affordable health care — and that transparency will enhance choice and competition to make healthcare more affordable.”

Goals of the organization include:

•    Improved transparency on the federal and state-based health insurance exchanges
•    More up-front cost and quality information from healthcare providers
•    Better quality measures in federal and state healthcare programs
•    More data to power comparison shopping tools
