Indianapolis-based Anthem failed to meet its third quarter earnings projections, Nasdaq reports.

1. Anthem posted a $2.45 quarterly earnings. Projections pegged it for a $2.49.
2. Its revenue exceeded estimates, however. Anthem made $21.1 billion in the quarter surpassing the $20.7 billion which was projected.
3. Anthem has exceeded revenue projections three of the last four quarters.
